UCA Summer Start is a summer bridge program designed to help our new Bears transition from high school to a successful freshman year. It’s a great way to start early and start right at UCA! As part of Summer Start, you will have opportunities to:
- Meet other new students
- Engage with UCA Faculty and Staff
- Improve your study strategies
- Get to know the UCA campus before classes begin
You’ll hear tips on taking better notes, improving your organizational and time-management skills, and managing stress and the challenges of college. Summer Start is open to new, first-time entering first-year, Pell-eligible UCA students.

Program dates: August 10th — 16th, 2025
- Applications will open in March and close on June 30, 2025 (or until full).
- Participants must be Pell-eligible
- Program costs will be fully covered for admitted participants
